Help! The wax has gone all bobbly on the surface of my wrap.

Its likely that the wrap was washed in water that was too warm or dried near a radiator. Just refresh the wrap.

I have a dish that is long but narrow. Do you make custom orders?

Yes, if you would like to get in touch, info@bumblewrap.co.uk, we will try to help.

How do I use the Bumble Wrap?

The warmth from your hands will help to shape the wrap around any container/bowl/ food you choose. The wrap moulds as the wax in the fabric softens from the warmth of your hand.

How can I clean my Bumble Wrap?

How to clean the wrap. The wrap can be wiped clean and if needed can be immersed in cool water with some mild detergent and hung on the line to dry naturally.

With extended use the wrap can look tired but is easy to refresh. Place the wrap on grease proof paper in the oven at 110 degrees for 2 minutes. The wax in the fabric melts, returns to the surface of the fabric. Remove from the oven and lift immediately from the tray. Hold at the corners for 30 seconds while the wax cools.

If you look after the Bumble Wraps they can last a year. And when they come to the end of their life they can go on the compost heap or they make great fire lighters.

What's the best way to care for my Bumble Wrap?

Bumble Wraps can last up to a year depending on care and use. For wraps that are used heavily expect less. Taking good care of your wrap will extend its life. Protect wraps from heat sources such as the oven, microwave, dishwasher, prolonged full sun on a hot day – or anything hot enough to melt wax. Beeswax melts at around 62°C, but it begins to soften before getting to that temperature. Not recommended for raw meat, liquids or foods that are still hot.

Some staining may occur when they come in contact with brightly coloured foods such as beetroot and cut red peppers.

After each use wash your wraps in cold water with a mild detergent. To remove dried on food - leave the wrap to soak for a few minutes in cold water until the food is soft enough to wash away. After washing rinse, and lay somewhere flat, or hang on the washing line. Once dry, fold your wraps and store somewhere handy so they are ready to go next time you need them. Bumble Wraps have a naturally pleasant smell of beeswax.

What food can't you use beeswax wraps for?

The only food we advise against using with your Bumble Wraps is directly on raw meat or raw fish. You can put the meat or fish in a bowl and cover the bowl with a Bumble Wrap to maintain its freshness.
