Our Frequently Asked Questions

Every day, we get asked lots of questions about our wonderful beeswax wraps and bags at Bumble Wrap. They are unique products with a purpose many have never heard of, so naturally we understand you want to know more!

Here are our top 10 FAQ’s, although if you have any more burning questions please drop us an email atinfo@bumblewrap.co.uk. We’re happy to help with anything!

How do I use Bumble Wrap?

The warmth from your hands will help shape the wrap around any bowl/container/food you choose. The wrap moulds as the wax in the fabric softens with the warmth of your hands.

How long do they last?

We generally say up to 1 year with continuous use. And each wrap can be refreshed if and when needed.

How do you keep them clean?

Simply use a mild dish soap and gently rinse with lukewarm water and allow to dry naturally away from heat.

Can you put them in the fridge or freezer?

Yes, they are ideal to wrap cheese, opened containers, and leftovers in the fridge or freezer. Just remember to allow the wrap to reach room temperature once removed from the freezer.

How do you store them?

They can be rolled up and put in a jar on the kitchen top, somewhere visible to ALL.  Or simply place in a drawer. It's best to keep them out of direct sunlight though.

Can I place food directly onto the wrap?

Yes, you can. Cheese, bread, sandwiches, dried goods and cut vegetables all stay fresher for longer.  We just don’t advise you to wrap up raw meat or fish.

So, does it do the same job as cling film?

Yes and no! It covers food but the natural cotton allows the food to breathe and stay fresher for longer. Cling film makes food sweat, as well as being incredibly bad for the environment.

What’s the difference between your wraps and bags?

They are both still great products and have their own unique qualities.  The bags need no folding, simply add the food and fold over the top - brilliant. For anyone at the start of their zero waste journey, the bags might be a better starting point.

Will the wraps start to smell of my food?

No, our special beeswax mix acts as a barrier so no smell can impregnate the cotton fabric.
