AFTERNOON TEA

What better way to keep your Afternoon Tea fresh.....

Keep those scones and sandwiches fresh until its time to devour them!

Day in the life at Bumble Wrap

It takes a lot of effort, hard work, dedication and love to produce Bumble Wrap beeswax wraps. The team behind the scenes at Bumble Wrap are dedicated to creating a sustainable alternative to plastic wraps. We work as a close-knit team to achieve this.

Behind the scenes at Bumble Wrap is tricky to describe. No two days are the same, and recently, due to COVID-19, we've really missed meeting our customers out and about at food fairs and other events. While we cannot wait to see all of you again, once allowed, the last few months has allowed us to focus on the business and explore new eco-friendly products. Products that we cannot wait to share with you!

So what does a day in the life at Bumble Wrap look like?

Let's have a look, shall we?

9am: The best way to start the day is with a lovely hot cup of strong coffee (with no sugar!). We make sure that all the waxing machines are turned on, so the wax is melted, ready for a full day of production! Before any work starts, we check the production schedule and the fabrics are set up all ready to be waxed. Phew - and it's only 9am.

10am: Once we've made sure production is sorted, we sit down to check through any emails that have come in from customers and stockists overnight and respond. Any new stockists are called to answer any questions they might have and to check on orders. After this task is completed, the waxing begins! The team start to produce every single beeswax wrap by hand! All the wraps are pulled off, ready for folding, and are placed in packaging to fulfil orders.

11am: Time for a product development meeting, usually accompanied by cake! We tend to meet each Friday to update on where we are up to with each product. This year the majority of our meetings have been held via Zoom, but hopefully, soon, we will meet in person. During the meeting, we have a look at some new fabrics to consider for future products.

12pm: A quick break to take a brisk walk with a bouncy chocolate Labrador, Hector and a shy but very protective Jack Russel named Betty. (A post walk photo below)

A Day In The Life

1pm: Time to sit down and spend some time on the website and set up some new photographs of our beeswax wraps.

2pm: While updating the website and taking new snaps, we decide it is time for another coffee to keep us fuelled up!

3pm: Time to say goodbye to today's orders as they are collected to be posted out. Now is the perfect time to catch up on some admin jobs and order any materials that might be needed.

4pm: Tomorrow is a new day, and as such, we need a new production plan. Before the day ends, we work out what needs to be completed tomorrow, so we have an idea of the day ahead.
