5 Ways To Repurpose Your Halloween Pumpkins

...And that’s a wrap! Or in our case, a Bumble Wrap! It’s official - Halloween is over and we’re now into the month of November. Which means that it’s the start of the Christmas build-up and we’re very excited about it.

But before we get started with all of that good stuff, it’s time we thought of repurposing our Halloween pumpkins to really make the most of them as opposed to just throwing them away.

There are more ways than you might think to give your pumpkins a new purpose. Here are a few of our favourite things to do with them to give you some ideas!

Try some pumpkin recipes

This is an easy way to get rid of your leftover pumpkins - and a fun one too! There are hundreds of pumpkin recipes out there to help you create the most delectable seasonal dishes that are perfect for serving as a family dinner or perhaps for hosting a dinner party.

Why not try a delicious stuffed pumpkin with rice, apple, pomegranate seeds, fennel, and pecans? A few more of our personal favourites include pumpkin hummus and pumpkin soup, as well as pumpkins muffins and pumpkin pie. Whether you have a savoury or sweet tooth, there is sure to be something to satisfy your appetite.

Remember, keep any leftovers wrapped up in a Bumble Bag or wrap and they’ll be equally as delicious if enjoyed at a later date.

Make a pumpkin planter

If your pumpkin remains uncarved, simply cut off the top and remove the seeds and flesh inside and fill with soil until around one third full. Place your plant of choice inside the pumpkin and top it up with some more soil. There you have it… A beautiful, autumnal plant pot!

Feed the wildlife

If you live in a more rural area, a great way to get rid of your pumpkins is to cut them up into smaller pieces and distribute for the birds, squirrels, rabbits, and mice to feast on. Trust us, they will be thankful for the tasty treat!

Roast the pumpkin seeds

A yummy snack when covered in salt or brown sugar, roasted pumpkin seeds are a fantastic seasonal treat. Simply separate the seeds from the pumpkin guts and rinse them thoroughly before placing them on an oiled baking sheet. Stir them around to ensure they are all sufficiently covered in the oil. Roast until golden brown and cover with your desired seasoning.

Don’t forget, keep your roasted pumpkin seeds fresh and tasty for longer by using our handy beeswax wraps and bags!

Plant pumpkin seeds

Needless to say, this is an obvious one but still a great idea. Plant your pumpkin seeds so you have more beautiful pumpkins for next year!
